BRIDE WARS
Competition
January 8, 2009

Calling All Brides! In honor of the new
movie BRIDE WARS, Theatres at Mall of
America™ will be hosting a BRIDE WARS
challenge of our own.
About the Movie
Liv (Kate Hudson) and Emma (Anne Hathaway)
are best friends who since childhood have
planned every detail of their respective
weddings. At the top of their bridal "must
have" list: a ceremony at New York's
ultimate bridal destination, the Plaza
Hotel. Now, at age 26, they're both about to
get married; they're about to realize their
dreams; and they're about to live happily
ever after. When a clerical error causes a
clash in wedding dates - they're now to be
married on the same date! - Liv, Emma and
their lifelong friendship are put to the
ultimate test. Liv, a successful lawyer who
is used to getting what she wants, including
the perfect job and the perfect man, won't
settle for anything less than the perfect
wedding she has dreamed of for years. Emma,
a schoolteacher who has always been good at
taking care of others, but not so much in
looking after herself, discovers her inner
bridezilla and comes out swinging when her
own dream wedding is imperiled
Entering the
Contest
We are asking for soon-to-be brides to
submit their bridal stories. Stories could
range from how you got engaged, if you have
had any bridezilla moments yet, or any other
unique stories about planning your wedding.
You may also submit stories about your
friends that are engaged and why you think
they should be able to compete in our bridal
challenge. Entries can be submitted at
Chapel of Love, emailed to
kwilharm@mallofamerica.com or sent to:
Mall of America Management Offices
Attn: Bride Wars
60 E. Broadway
Bloomington MN 55425
All entries must be received by January 7,
2009.
The Competition
Seven lucky women will then be chosen to
compete on January 8, 2009. Women who are
chosen to compete will be notified by
January 7, 2009 by phone. The seven women
will need to arrive at the Theatres at Mall
of America (located on Level 4, South) on
January 8 at 6 p.m. This is where the
challenge will kick off.
Brides will be given half an hour to find
four things in Mall of America®:
1. Something Old
2. Something New
3. Something Borrowed
4. Something Blue
Theatres at Mall of America will not be
providing any money for the competition.
Brides will need to collect the items on
their own. They may collect the items by
purchasing the items themselves, asking
guests for the items or any other creative
ways you find fit. Contestants will not be
allowed to do anything that is considered
unlawful in order to receive the items.
Once each contestant has found their items,
they will return to Theatres at Mall of
America where the prescreening of BRIDE WARS
is taking place. Each contestant will then
explain to the audience the items they found
and how they received the items. A panel of
judges will measure creativity,
resourcefulness and audience responsiveness
to determine who the winner of the
competition will be. The winner of the BRIDE
WARS competition will receive their choice
of either a wedding gown or custom flower
arrangements provided by Chapel of Love at
Mall of America.
